About Us
Universal English Academy's first official class launched in February of 2002. Since that time we have grown little by little to provide a host of services connected with language learning, language teaching and practical use.
Owner / Teacher, Matt Carter, lived overseas for many years, working with individuals from many cultures in an attempt to discover the entire process of language learning from zero to fluency. The result of that research and experience is the CNC/Hawaii Homestay program.
As UEA is a family owned and operated small business in the Kona community we believe it important to educate our guests in low impact ways of enjoying Hawaii, in a deep respect for the Hawaiianess of the place and the complexity of the Host Culture.
More than anything else, UEA is a company that is focused on making a difference in the lives of our students and community. We deliver life long memories, first class education and training, a positive yet practical approach to learning and are committed to the service of our community and our world by embracing concepts such as Aloha, Lokahi and Pa'ahana.
